From February 22nd to 26th 2010, Cuba will become the main stage for the largest international meeting for the lovers of the best tobacco in the world: the Habanos’. As every year, the event renders tribute to Habanos’ brands, this year particularly to Cohiba and to Romeo y Julieta, including an event specially aimed at women and Habanos. Attendees will have the chance to taste the new vitolas Habanos s.a. will launch to the markets throughout 2010, and to experience first hand the secrets of a deep-rooted centuries old tradition.

Habanos s.a invites you to enjoy a whole week of pleasure among friends with a common link: the passion for the Habano.

The festival programme includes the traditional activities during this unforgettable week, such as:

• Visit to tobacco plantations

On February 22nd, the event begins with the Welcome evening, which includes the Habanos s.a novelties 2010 presentation, and the nominations for the “Premio Habano” awards. They will be followed by a private concert of Maestro Chucho Valdés (who has received again the Grammy Latino award this year) and his guests.

The closing of the Festival will be held on February 26th with the Gala Dinner that includes the traditional auction.

In order to achieve a better organization of the Festival’s social activities, reservations will only be received before February 1st, 2010. Past this date, no reservations will be received.

Payment of the reservations by way of bank transfers will only be accepted before February 12th, 2010.

Reservations for the Welcome Evening will be valid until Monday, February 22nd, 2010, at 12:00pm. Past this time, a last-minute sale of those reservations which have not been previously paid for will be carried out.

Reservations for the Evening of the Women in Habanos will be valid until Wednesday, February 24th, 2010, at 12:00pm. Past this time, a last minute-sale of those reservations which have not been previously paid for will be carried out.

Reservations for the Gala Night will be valid until Thursday, February 25th, 2010, at 12:00pm. Past this time, a last-minute sale of those reservations which have not been previously paid for will be carried out.

Payment policy:

According to the regulations of the Banco Nacional de Cuba for currency exchange, in force in the Republic of Cuba, the payment policy for the XII Habano Festival will be established as follows:

1.Cash payments: will only be accepted in CUC (Cuban Convertible Peso)

2.Bank transfers: will only be accepted in EUROS, at the exchange rate in effect on the LAST DAY of the month previous to the bank transfer, taking the European Central Bank as reference. In every case, the rate will be provided by Habanos S.A. (DEADLINE FOR PAYMENTS BY WAY OF BANK TRANSFERS: 12/02/2010)

3.Discounts or commissions resulting from bank transfers will be assumed in every case by the party effecting payment. Habanos S.A. will not assume the transfer discounts of the issuing bank. Habanos S.A. must receive full payment for the purchased activity or full package, according to the case.  

4.In the case of participants from the United States of America, there will be two options for cash payment:
a)Upon arrival in Cuba, American dollars (USD) must be exchanged into CUC.
b)EUROS, Canadian dollars, British pounds, Mexican pesos, Swiss francs and Japanese yen may be obtained in their country of origin and exchanged into CUC upon arrival in Cuba, according to the current exchange rate.

2.Payments with credit cards: Only the cards VISA, Master Card, CABAL, TRAVEL CARD, DELIVERY CARD, BFI, RED, and SERCUBA will be accepted, TO WHICH AN EXCHANGE RATE OF 1.1124 TO THE CUC WILL BE APPLIED.

3.Payments with credit cards drawn from American banks or their branches will not be accepted in any case.

4. Those who choose to effect payment by way of bank transfers must send a copy OF THE SWIFT CODE WHEN THE TRANSFER IS CARRIED OUT, IN ORDER TO QUICKLY AND EASILY IDENTIFY THE REMITTER.

FAIR-RELATED EXHIBITION

The 12th Habano Festival Fair-related Exhibition will be carried out in parallel to the Seminar, as an inseparable part of the Festival. It will be the perfect opportunity for technical and commercial exchange among business people, producers and dealers.

Companies, countries and organizations may contract space for exhibition and sale by business people, artisans, artists, dealers or producers related to:

• Products related to tobacco farming
• Machinery
• Crafts
• Paintings
• Bibliography
• Smoker products
• Luxury products
• Gourmet products

Stand prices for the Fair-related Exhibition
- Modular stand: 110.00 CUC per square meter (Minimum space: 9 square meters)
- Unassembled space: 90 CUC per square meter (Minimum space: 9 square meters)

Program of the Fair-related Exhibition:

During the Exhibition, exhibitors will be able to sell their products to the public and carry out promotional activities previously coordinated with the Organizing Committee. The stand design of exhibiting firms must reflect their direct or indirect relation to tobacco products.

Exhibitor’s Catalog
Participants in the Habano Festival Fair-related Exhibition are entitled to appear in the Exhibitor’s Catalog. For that purpose they must send before January 15th, 2010, the information and logotype of the exhibiting company or enterprise, as well as a list of the products or brands to be exhibited.

Inclusion in the Exhibitor’s Catalog will be completely free of charge for up to ten lines of text. 5 CUC will be charged for each extra line. Neither the Havana International Conference Center nor the Organizing Committee assume the responsibility of including the corporate information of exhibiting firms in the Catalog if they are submitted after the announced deadline. Advertisements in the Catalog will be charged according to the rates established for each case.

Those who are interested in participating in the 12th Fair-related Exhibition associated to the 12th Habano Festival must confirm their participation with the Havana International Conference Center and Habanos S.A.
